Sociel

Sociel was born in 1964 with the manufacture of celluloid and acetate eyeglass frames. José Maria dos Santos Rodrigues and Manuel Fernando dos Santos Rodrigues joined the firm’s staff in the 1968 and 1970 respectively. In 1981/82, the company acquired a new management composed by José Maria dos Santos Rodrigues, Manuel Fernando dos Santos Rodrigues and António Júlio Antunes, who remained until now, manufacturing the brands Sociel, Rodsant and Kanali. Currently, the first two assume the management of Sociel. 1995 was a year of great expansion for the company, new facilities were created due to the need for greater infrastructure given the high volume of business. With the growth of the company, in 1998 partnerships were established with international manufacturers for the representation, especially, of metal frames.
